One can get vegetable garden kits from the horticulture department to set up a vegetable garden on the terrace of the house.

Terrace Garden Vegetable Kits available at Coimbatore

According to a press release issued by the Coimbatore District Collector, vegetable gardens kits can be obtained from the Horticulture Department to set up a vegetable garden on the terrace of a house.

The terrace vegetable garden project is being implemented in the Coimbatore district by the Department of Horticulture under the National Agricultural Development Program. All housewives with good intentions that we and our children should eat non-toxic vegetables can benefit by getting home terrace vegetable garden kits provided by the Horticulture Department.

The kit includes 6 coconut fiber waste lumps, 6 plastic bags, 10 types of vegetable seeds, 1 kg 18:18:18 water soluble fertilizer, 100 ml neem oil medicine and a manual. The total cost of this Kit is Rs.522/- But it is enough to pay only Rs.311/- , as Government is giving subsidy for this kit.Beneficiaries will be given up to 5 kits per person if they bring a copy of their Aadhar card. These kits are being distributed in 12 circles.

The Coimbatore District Collector said that all the public who need the kit can avail it at the above offices.
